About the program
In May 1918, Private Henry Johnson of the 369th Infantry fought off a German raiding party alone in the Argonne, was wounded twenty-one times, and saved the life of a fellow soldier. France awarded him the Croix de Guerre. His own country took ninety-seven years to award him the Medal of Honor.
Henry Johnson is a short film made with historical advisors that tells that night and what came after. The program pairs a screening with a conversation about who Johnson was, the regiment he served in, and why a nation decides whose courage it records — followed by open Q&A.
Where the setting allows, the program includes a short demonstration of the 3D and augmented reality historical model developed from the production, which lets audiences examine the uniform and equipment of the 369th up close on a tablet or display.
Programming is booked for Veterans Day, Black History Month, and year-round dates.
Session Types
Single class or grade-level assembly (grades 6–12): Screening, discussion, and Q&A tailored to students, with a short set of discussion materials aligned to state social studies standards provided in advance. 45 minutes, or one class period.
Community program (libraries, VFW and American Legion posts, veterans organizations): Screening, conversation, and Q&A. 45 minutes. Evening and weekend dates available.
Full school day: Up to four sessions across grade levels, with time for a faculty conversation. Ideal for Black History Month programming.
Museum, memorial, and historic site programs: Public screening and talk, with the 3D and AR demonstration where facilities allow. Spring and summer dates available.

Technical requirements: A screen or display, a projector or large monitor, and sound. Everything else travels with the presenter.
Rates and available dates are provided on request and in the one-page program overview. A 50% deposit confirms the date. Vendor registration, W-9, and background clearance can be completed alongside booking for schools and districts that require them.
